A VISIT TO THE CRASH SITE

AND SURROUNDING AREA

August 2003

Next on to Caernarfon Airworld Museum, based at Caernarfon Airport, North Wales, home to a complete engine from C - Charlie. The exhibits include a display about the RAF Mountain Rescue Service, formed in 1942 at this airfield.

This is a working airport and the curator of the museum also manages the aerodrome. He did say that the engine had been substantially raided for parts but at least the basic block seems still to be from W4326. The museum is aware of it's history but the records are in store & there was unfortunately no co-operation to view them at the time of my visit.
