The grave's condition had deteriorated so far that it would not be possible for me realistically to bring it back to a fitting tribute. So I began writing to and phoning the Commonwealth War Graves Commission who were most helpful and sympathetic. It is hoped that CWGC headstone will be in place later this year, the 60th anniversary of the loss of Lancaster SR-C |
