SERGEANT DEREK HOLLOWAY


Sergeant Derek Alfred James Holloway, an eighteen-years-old gunner in the R.A.F, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Holloway,
of 36 Hessell-road, West Ealing, has been killed on active service. Sergeant Holloway had only finished his training two months before. He joined the R.A.F. in October of last year. He was educated at Northfields School and the Modern School. On leaving he started work at Evershed and Vignoles, Ltd., where he remained for two years. He was then employed by Kings Cross Truck Co. for a short while, after which he joined the R.A.F., which had been his aim for some time.
The funeral took place at Ealing Cemetery on Monday; the Rev. S. Ford conducted the service.

Funeral arrangements were carried out by F.W. Wickenden and Son. Mr. and Mrs. Holloway and Mrs. Soley wish to thank many friends for their kindness in their sad bereavement.

     

 

 

Dereks War Medals were claimed on behalf of the family posthumously.
They include the 1939-45 Star the Air Crew Europe Star &
the War Medal 1939-1945
